Federal Secrets Republican Rallies Behind Trump on Epstein

Representative Anna Paulina Luna, a Florida Republican who leads a House task force on declassifying federal secrets, rallied behind President Donald Trump over the Jeffrey Epstein issue, accusing some of his supporters of backstabbing.

Amid a MAGA backlash over his administration's handling of the release of Epstein case files, Trump, seeking to extinguish the disquiet, said he had instructed Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce "all pertinent Grand Jury testimony, subject to Court approval."

Trump, who was once friendly with the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, also said he would be suing The Wall Street Journal after it reported that he had written Epstein a bawdy birthday letter in 2003. Trump says the letter is a fake.

"While others were busy stabbing President Trump in the back, we were working overtime behind the scenes—in the Oval Office," Luna, who heads the House Oversight Committee task force on federal secrets, posted to X.

Luna, who is pushing for greater government transparency, and recently helped to secure the release of secret files related to the JFK assassination, also shared a photo of her with Trump and her husband.

"This photo was taken earlier today, and no, it's not a coincidence. This is 4D chess, not checkers," Luna said.

"Welcome to the big leagues. Enjoy Phase 3. @AGPamBondi is unsealing grand jury testimony—and there's much more to come. This is the most transparent administration in U.S. history."

In a separate post on X, Luna also said she was investigating "destruction of Epstein evidence at the FBI" under the previous Joe Biden administration.

Trump Under MAGA Pressure on Epstein

The Trump campaign had pledged full transparency on Epstein when his administration took office, fueling MAGA speculation of a cover-up by officials seeking to protect a group of elite co-conspirators connected to the financier who had also abused children.

But Trump's Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation concluded there is no credible evidence that Epstein maintained a client list of high-profile individuals for whom he procured children to abuse, nor that he blackmailed them.

They also confirmed that Epstein had killed himself in jail in 2019 while he was awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges, amid unsubstantiated claims that he was murdered to protect those in his elite network.

Those conclusions sparked anger among those in Trump's MAGA movement who were expecting a different outcome, one that proved the claims to be correct. Trump has sharply criticized those who still believe such Epstein theories, calling it a "SCAM."

House Republicans Push for Epstein Files

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican and one of Trump's fiercest supporters in Congress, co-sponsored a House resolution by U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie, a Kentucky Republican who has clashed with Trump, to release all of the Epstein files.

"I am proudly cosponsoring and will sign the discharge petition. I will never protect pedophiles or the elites and their circles," Greene posted to X.

In an interview with Kentucky Public Radio, Massie said he is advancing the discharge petition because "the American people deserve to know what was in those files, and I think we've got to get as much justice for the victims as we can."

"I think it's important that we keep our promises," he said. "And this was a campaign promise that the president made, and it's a promise that his administration has made, his vice president has made, his son has made. And it's a promise that's not been kept."
