Kylie Jenner has gone viral once again—this time for a sharing a moment with her daughter, Stormi.
On July 16, the beauty mogul and reality star posted her first-ever "Get Ready With Me" video on TikTok featuring her 7-year-old daughter. Filmed during their vacation in Greece, the video captured a lighthearted bonding session between the mother-daughter duo, with Jenner allowing Stormi to experiment with makeup. The video quickly exploded online, amassing over 56 million views within 24 hours.
With nearly 9 million likes at the time of writing, the internet is clearly captivated by the duo. Comments range from admiration to adoration: "An icon raising an icon," one user wrote. Another added: "Aww, you two are so cute together! Stormy's got the natural glow, and your makeup skills are on point! Love these mommy-daughter moments."
One notable moment occurred when Jenner tells Stormi: "Mommy always tells you, you're the most beautiful without..." prompting her daughter to finish the sentence: "makeup."
This seemingly sweet exchange has received both adoration and scrutiny. Many comments in the video express delight at the interaction. But in an interview with Newsweek, developmental psychologist Ana Aznar weighed in on the message behind the viral video.
@kyliejenner our first GRWM together 🥹 we always make vids together for fun and i never post them but this was just tooooo cute

"They seem to have a very warm relationship, which is something that all parents should aim to have with their children. It is great that she tells her daughter that she is most beautiful without makeup, but in my opinion that message is lost while she says it while they are putting makeup on," said Aznar.
However, many commenters saw huge weight in Jenner's comments.
"Kylie is like: the world WILL NOT tear your confidence apart at a young age like they did to me," wrote one user who goes by Matheus Franco Deotti.
Another user, norag1986, commented: "As much as I can't stand the kar-jenners, Kylie's daughter seems very well adjusted and very smart and sweet."
Bailey the Lab agreed, writing, "Honestly, Stormi looks like a really disciplined kid, and that's not an easy feat. She's a good mum."
For Aznar, the video highlights a common parenting dilemma: Is letting young children wear makeup a harmless bonding experience, or does it risk introducing beauty standards too early?
"There is not a right age for girls to start wearing makeup," said Aznar. "However, it is important that we don't push our daughters to grow too fast."

Aznar emphasized the need for age-appropriate bonding, warning of potential harm from cosmetic products on developing skin.
"There are many ways for moms to bond with their little girls that are more age appropriate than applying makeup. It is also important to realize that the skin of little girls is not ready for these products, and it may do them more harm than good. Indeed, dermatologists are warning parents against this practice."
Social Media Risks and the Spotlight
Beyond the cosmetics debate, Aznar also raised concerns about children's exposure online.
"As parents we must also realize the dangers of exposing our children on social media. Even if this mum thinks that the video is perfectly innocent, there are people who will not see it that way. We cannot forget that there are around 500,000 active predators any given day online."
Given her lineage, it's no surprise that Stormi is already immersed in the world of beauty and glam. The daughter of rapper Travis Scott and member of the Kardashian-Jenner dynasty, Stormi has grown up in the spotlight. In 2014, Jenner founded Kylie Cosmetics, launching the following year with the hugely popular lip kit products. In 2020, Jenner sold 51% of Kylie Cosmetics to the multinational beauty umbrella company Coty, Inc. for $600 million.
In March, Forbes ranked Jenner 52nd on its list of America's richest self-made women, estimating her worth at $670 million.
